About Sleeping Bag Ministry

The goal of our ministry is to make warm sleeping bags for the homeless in Columbus, Lancaster, and surrounding communities. We hope to help those people without shelter to stay warm in the winter months.  Our sleeping bags are distributed by The Open Shelter to those in need.

We are a group of dedicated men and women who meet on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Parish Activity Center. We welcome new workers at any time.  You only have to know how to make knots to be able to help us. We are a group of men and women who come to help.

We understand that your life has a hectic schedule and we are very flexible and understanding.  So if you are on vacation, need to go to appointments, take care of grandchildren, illness, family difficulties, or need to have lunch with an old friend, we wish you well and always welcome you back.

We are a group dedicated to helping others. Since most of us are retired, we have found this ministry as a way to help others in need. We want to do something useful with our spare time. We have also developed a bond with each other and take care of one another when a situation arises.

If you are interested in helping this valuable ministry, we would love to have you.  Please contact us to join so that you can be sure we are meeting that week.
